Underground Service Request - Trains and Trams

TransAdelaide or 3rd Party Services within the Rail or Tram Corridor.

Any digging, trenching, boring or the installation of 3rd party services, which is to be undertaken within the rail / tram corridor must have TransAdelaide prior approval before the commencement of such works.

Permission may be granted for such works to be completed within the tram/rail corridor in accordance with the following Conditions.

Should you wish to indentify the location of existing TransAdelaide Services or wish to install a 3rd party service within the rail or tram corridor, please provide the requested information and submit the following Application.

Conditions

  1. All service location applications must be submitted 14 days before the proposed commencement of work. Some complex requirements may require longer than 14 days to resolve.


  2. No excavation, digging or boring shall commence until expressly authorised in writing by the TransAdelaide Manager Track and Civil.


  3. This application does not give immediate permission for the applicant to access the work site. Separate arrangements for site access and track protection shall be made with the Track Protection Manager, which will be identified in prescribed conditions included in our response.


  4. The applicant undertakes this work at their own responsibility. The applicant will indemnify and keep indemnified TransAdelaide from and against all claim demands, costs, damages or expenses incurred in connection with this project.


  5. Contractors entering the rail / tram corridor are required to hold in their possession evidence of TransAdelaide competency. TransAdelaide Learning and Development department provides training to obtain competency in Rail Safety Awareness. Please be advised that fees will apply for the provision of this training and details can be obtained from the Learning and Development Department on telephone (08)82184363.


  6. Contractors will need to provide the Track Protection Manager evidence of Rail Safety Awareness Training, Public Liability ($20M), current registration with Work Cover and licence's of any plant and/or equipment proposed to be operated within the corridor.


  7. All TransAdelaide cable locations are approximate. Any digging within 600 mm of identified dimensions shall be undertaken by hand digging or vacuum potholing. It is the applicants responsibility to locate all other services, eg Dial before you dig.


  8. Where TransAdelaide has physically identified the approximate location its cables, the identification will be provided in orange marker paint.

Fees

Fees will apply for the location and/or the installation of 3rd Party Services within the rail / tram corridor on a full cost recovery basis, with a minimum fee of $110 (GST Inclusive). Details of actual fees will be provided on application.
