Group Booking Information

To assist groups with their travel requirements, TransAdelaide requires groups to book in advance. This allows TransAdelaide to cater for the needs of groups traveling on specified days.
It may be desirable to split larger groups in travel. We encourage you to discuss this with TransAdelaide.

Plan in Advance
  1. TransAdelaide require a minimum of five working days notice prior to the date the group intends to travel. Advance notice allows TransAdelaide to ensure groups traveling on the day have minimal inconvenience, as we may be able to allocate railcars and staff to meet the requirements of the group.
  2. Please include the following details when you make a booking.
  3. Date of travel.
  4. Time of travel (start and return journey).
  5. Number in group.
  6. Contact details of school.
  7. Boarding and disembarking location.

Traveling in groups

  1. To make your journey more pleasant, group tickets allow your entire group to be on the one ticket. This option alleviates the need for each passenger to validate a ticket, allowing for a more efficient method of boarding the required service. Group tickets can be purchased from the InfoCentre, corner of King William and Currie street, Adelaide, or from staffed railway stations including: Adelaide, Salisbury, Noarlunga, Oaklands, Elizabeth and Gawler.
  2. Groups should be at the station ten minutes prior to departure.
  3. It is essential that teachers/carers board students as quickly as possible to avoid delaying services.
  4. Teachers/carers are requested to maximise the number of children per seat.

Safety

Safety is one of the highest priorities at TransAdelaide. To help you have a safe journey with us it is advisable you follow these guidelines:

  1. Trains are fast and quiet. always keep a safe distance behind the white lines when standing on the platform until the train has stopped.
  2. Watch your step when entering and leaving the train as there is sometimes a gap between the platform and the railcar.
  3. Don't change carriages whilst the railcar is in motion.
