TransAdelaide is committed to the protection of the environment by minimising the impact of its operations through the continuous improvement of its environmental performance and the implementation of pollution prevention measures.
TransAdelaide will:
- Identify, assess and manage environmental risks and take appropriate action to prevent and minimise adverse impacts
- Define, establish and maintain responsible environmental standards, objectives and targets for managing the environmental impacts of its operations
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations and other statutory requirements
- Monitor, review and audit its documentation, processes and performance
against recognised environmental standards to identify and address any non-conformance
- Provide training to staff regarding environmental standards, objectives and targets and their respective roles and responsibilities in fulfilling them
- Support the principles of sustainable development by encouraging the use of public transport and promoting safe and responsible work practices
- Be responsive to changing community and stakeholder expectations
TransAdelaide aspires to cause zero harm to the environment and will allocate resources to implement and communicate this policy to employees, contractors, customers and the public.
