Safety tips
If you are uneasy about travelling on trains at night, there are a number of way to make your journey safer and more comfortable
- Travel in the front carriage of a train, near the driver, and approach the drivers cabin and let them know of your concerns
- Alternatively, trains departing Adelaide Railway Station after 7.00pm have a Passenger Service Assistant (PSA's) as well as a Security Guard on board after 7pm. Let them know of your travel plans and they will happily watch out for you
- Try and avoid travelling alone, but if this is not possible, make sure you wait in a well lit section of the platform, stay in populated areas and advise someone you know of your estimated time of arrival (ETA) and arrange for safe transport from your station.
- All TransAdelaide vehicles are equipped with two-way radios and PSA's carry mobile phones which can be made available for your use.
- If you are concerned about getting home from your station, ask our staff to ring for a taxi or to let your friends and family know of your arrival so they can arrange safe transport for you.
All TransAdelaide staff are happy to advise and reassure customers about any safety issues, so please feel free to approach staff about any safety issues. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to let us know
